Delhi has a limited number of IB schools, so many families also explore top IB schools in Gurgaon and Noida.

Think beyond Delhi.

For families in Delhi NCR, the right IB school may be just across the city border. Gurgaon and Noida offer several established IB World Schools and can considerably widen your options.

IB authorisation and programmes offered by individual schools can change. Families should confirm current details with the school and the International Baccalaureate.

Compared with the wider Delhi NCR region, New Delhi has a relatively limited number of IB World Schools.

IB school profiles for Noida are being added. Know a school we should list?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers four programmes. A school may offer one, several or all of them, so always check which programmes a school is authorised to teach.

Ages 3-12

Primary Years (PYP)

An inquiry-led approach for young learners, built around transdisciplinary themes rather than separate subjects.

Ages 11-16

Middle Years (MYP)

Connects subjects to real-world contexts and builds the skills students need for senior school.

Ages 16-19

Diploma (DP)

A two-year pre-university course with six subjects, an extended essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS.

Ages 16-19

Career-related (CP)

Combines IB courses with career-related study and a focus on practical, applied skills.

An IB continuum school offers more than one IB programme, so a child can progress through the IB framework in a single school — for example from the Primary Years Programme through the Middle Years Programme to the Diploma Programme.

Many schools in Delhi NCR offer only the Diploma Programme in the senior years, often after a national or other international curriculum. Neither route is automatically better; what matters is how well the school delivers the programmes it offers and how well that fits your child.

Ask each school which IB programmes it is currently authorised to offer, and from which grade each one begins.

A short, consistent checklist makes it easier to compare schools fairly.

  • Programmes offered. Which of PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and from which grade?
  • Authorisation. Confirm the school's IB World School status with the International Baccalaureate.
  • Teaching & support. Teacher training, class size and learning-support provision.
  • Outcomes. Diploma results and where graduates go next, as published by the school.
  • Commute. Realistic weekday travel time, and transport options.
  • Total cost. Tuition plus admission, exam registration, transport and activities.
  • Culture & wellbeing. How students, teachers and families communicate and are supported.
  • Languages & subjects. The subject and language choices available in the senior years.

Test the commute at school hours before shortlisting. A school that looks ideal on paper can be the wrong fit if the daily journey is unrealistic.

Fees at IB schools vary widely between schools and between programmes, and they change from year to year. We do not publish fee figures here, because outdated numbers can mislead families.

When you speak to a school, ask for a complete written fee structure covering:

  • Tuition for each programme and grade
  • One-time admission and registration charges
  • IB assessment and exam registration fees
  • Transport, meals, uniforms and devices
  • Trips, activities and any refundable deposits
  • How much fees typically rise each year

Always verify current fees directly with the school.

Admission processes differ by school, but most families follow a similar path.

  1. Shortlist. Choose a small set of schools by programme, location and fit.
  2. Check timelines. Ask when applications open and close, and whether seats are available in your child's grade.
  3. Visit. Tour the campus, meet teachers and ask about support for new joiners.
  4. Apply & prepare. Submit documents and prepare for any assessment or interview the school uses.
  5. Confirm programme requirements. For the Diploma Programme, check subject prerequisites and entry criteria.

Seat availability, eligibility and timelines change every year. Confirm them directly with each school.

Compared with the wider Delhi NCR region, Delhi has a relatively limited number of IB World Schools, which is why many families also look at Gurgaon and Noida.

Neither is universally better. IB suits families who prefer inquiry-based learning or may relocate internationally; CBSE is a well-established, widely recognised path within India. The right choice depends on your child and your plans.

Many schools admit students into the Diploma Programme after Grade 10 from other boards. Entry criteria and subject prerequisites vary, so check with each school.

Confirm the school's authorisation and the programmes it offers with the International Baccalaureate, and ask the school for details in writing.

Yes. Use the "Suggest a correction" link in the footer. Every submission is reviewed before anything changes.
